CFL's Coast a bit more than regular light bulbs but pay real dividends in the long run.  They last about 10 times longer than traditional bulbs, and they use about 75% less energy.

The EPA estimates that if every home in the U.S. changed just one bulb to a CFL, we wold save enough energy to light 3 million homes for a year.

Like Batteries, CFL's need to be disposed of correctly.  Home Depot began an in-store consumer compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulb recycling program.  The customer can give their expired, unbroken CFL's to the associate behind the returns desk to be recycled properly with no charge to the customer.  If you would like to learn more about CFL recycling you can visit  Home Depot National CFL Bulb Recycling Program
