From January 5th to January 9th, the city of Buffalo will pick up used Christmas trees.

The week-long pickup is aimed at reducing costs associated with processing trees at landfills.

Residents are encouraged to put trees to the curb on the regular scheduled garbage pickup day and to leave them out of a garbage bag.

Trees will be picked up separately from the garbage so residents should not be concerned if trees are left behind.

If you can't get your tree to the curb by the regular scheduled pickup day, the city of Buffalo is also providing drop off opportunities at 3 locations in the city.  The locations are as follows:

Cazenvoia Park - Golf course parking lot, south of Seneca Street at the foot of Wildwood.

Shoshone Park - parking lot.  North off Hertel Ave at the foot of Beard.

1120 Seneca Street - rear parking lot.  Between Babcock and Smith.

Sinage will be posted at all locations.  Drop off sites will open from 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM Monday through Saturday beginning December 26th and ending January 17th.

Trees will be turned into mulch and will be donated to Grassroots Gardens of Buffalo.  The organization aims to maintain community gardens at more than 60 sites in Buffalo.
